Resurfacing of Clark Street Begins Tomorrow, Tuesday July 16

According to an announcement by Alderman Osterman today, crews will begin resurfacing Clark St. between Foster and Bryn Mawr tomorrow.

“Resurfacing will take place in two phases:

• Phase 1 will be Clark Street from Foster to Balmoral. Grinding of the street will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, July 16, and will last one day. Once complete, repaving will begin the next business day.

• Phase 2 will be Clark Street from Balmoral to Bryn Mawr. Grinding will begin once Phase 1 is complete.

The restoration of Clark Street’s stamped crosswalks will occur at a later date. Crews will paint temporary crosswalks for safety purposes.”

The 46th Annual Edgewater Glen Garden Walk

EGA 46th Annual Garden Walk is today Sunday, July 14th from noon to 5pm.

The gardens of the 1200 & 1300 blocks of Edgewater Glen will be featured this year. Many of them are also ‘Poison-free’ with no herbicides or pesticides used.

The starting point is at 1420 W. Glenlake (6100N) and admission is $5 per adult with children free for this easily-walkable event with plenty of street parking.

Around the Hood: Chicago Magic Lounge Opens in Andersonville (Video)

The Chicago Magic Lounge opened this week in the old laundromat space at 5050 N Clark St.

It looks like you can go in off the street anytime after 5pm (through the old laundry) to check out the library & and have a drink at the bar. If you want more magic experience you can head on back to the 120 seat cabaret theater they have named the Harry Blackstone Cabaret.

Around the Hood: Edgewater Craft Cocktail Crawl Next Thursday

It looks like there are a few Edgewater Glen hot spots on the first-ever Craft Cocktail Crawl next week. It is also a great opportunity to check out the brand-new Gallery 1070 space before it opens to the public and sample spirits from CH Distillery.
